Summer School and Conference

"Computations with Modular Forms 2011"

From Sep 5 to Sep 8 2011 the University Heidelberg will host a conference on "Computations with Modular Forms". It will take place at the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computation and the Mathematics Institute. The organizers Gebhard Böckle, John Voight and Gabor Wiese welcome applications to participate in this event.

Modular Forms play a central role and are of increasing importance in number theory and arithmetic geometry. The main focus of the conference is the development and application of algorithms in the field of modular and automorphic forms.

Prior to the conference there will be a summer school in Heidelberg from Aug 29 to Sep 2 2011. It will cover several current themes between theory and computation of modular forms. The summer school is aimed at young researchers and PhD students working or interested in this area.

Limited financial support is available for both events. Registration is open. Deadline to apply for support is the 26. of June.

The conference and summer school are supported by the DFG priority project "Algorithmic and Experimental Methods in Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory" (SPP 1489), the MATCH in Heidelberg and the Number Theory Foundation.

Download the booklet (6.6 mb) of the conference containing a lot of useful information.

The conference poster is available for download in a big (14.4 mb) or small (2.5 mb) version.
